The only thing I use a leg press machine for is calfs. I've used and would use a Hack machine on occasion.

I agree with what everyone else has posted - you must squat.
For me, when you get over 300 lbs on your back and squat up and down with it, it hurts. I feel it in my lungs, lower body, my face turns beet red, my lips turn purple, my vision gets blurry, etc. With that said I avoided squats for a year. I tried the Hammerstrength V-Squat machine and the Powertec Leverage Squat machine. I tried to convince myself I was still squatting. Yeah right.

I agree with everyone. I should have been more specific. I Squat and Deadlift. This is for clients who have limitations and/or flushing.

What kind of limitations exactly? I've had clients after acl rehab perform partial squats with assistance. Also if there is limitations in the back then i wouldn't put them in a squat machine where the weight is putting pressure on the spinal cord.
