damn man i thought you were gonna be a senior this year. on the topic of trying hard junior year, do it. if you bust your ass junior year and practice for your SATs you'll be set. i worked hard at my SATs and I scored very well. I just wish i had tried harder with schoolwork haha but yeah just give it your all and you'll do fine

It was already mentioned in the thread, but I will repeat the sentiment. Both Iraq and Afghanistan are combat zones which encompass the whole country. Regardless of your MOS in the Army, the possibility of experiencing a dangerous situation is always there. I was regularly out on patrols, providing security with an M240B, on top of a Humvee, even though I was trained to be an M1 tank crewman. Also, being an MP is not a good option if you're trying to avoid being in the sh*t.

If you don't want to see combat, go to the Chair Force... I mean, Air Force. Unless you're a pilot, you will be far from angry Haji trying to expel the occupying infidels from their respective countries.

Whatever you decide, good luck. Just don't rush into anything. If I could go back and change things, I would. Maybe my best friend would still be alive. He was only 19 when he died out there.

that's video is pretty fu*ked up. It's like on bigger stronger faster where the pilots killed Canadians on snap decision like that. probably the "go-pills"???

as disturbing as the video is, that looks like a great job. i'm sorry if that's not what you wanted my response to be, but that looks like a pretty sick job.

any body have any clue as to how hard that job is to come by & how likely it is to just have a job like that or similar?

I hope you realize that an Apache gunship is NOT impervious. A well-placed RPG or two have taken them out of the sky in both of the current wars.

I'm not sure about the army I think the gunners are usually helicopter mechanics but, in the Air Force there is a job specific to Aerial Gunner.
