The article link is blocked by my stupid work proxy, but as a smoker* I don't really feel the addiction to nicotine as much as the fixation and habit of going for a smoke. I tried quitting once by chewing straws, but that didn't last once I caught a whiff of someone elses real cigg burning away... I'll check it out later, but I'm fairly positive it takes more mental will power than anything to quit.
*I don't consider myself a smoker, but I do have a few on the weekends that I bum off my smoker friends.. If I don't get one, I'm fine..no nic fits or anything...just for pleasure I guess.. But some people say having 1 butt a year makes me a smoker..

I smoked in the military and the physical habits were the hardest for me...smoking after a meal, etc.
