I;m trying to figure out appropriate rest periods for this scheme, especially during ramped weights.

This reminds me of rest pause training to a certain extent. I do like the cluster idea, and we've seen that before as well. I need to think about this a little, but it looks like a good plan.
Dan John usually has some pretty solid stuff, so I'm inclined to try this idea down the road. |

It's pretty close to what I was doing with bulldozer. Personally I would rather do simple clusters then cycle reps, but I need to think about the point of cyclign reps a little more.

To address the original articles title statement. The Problem with Hypertrophy Programs. The problem as I see it is this. People tend to draw a hard line between them, and think that sets and reps in certain ranges are black and white in what they produce within the body. In truth, it's a large grey area, with lots of overlap. It's been said before but it's worth saying again. Work in all the rep ranges. |
