1. I'm a card carrying atheist, despite growing up with strong faith in Jesus.

2. I spent much of my teen and adult life trying to be a famous musician, and am still pissed off that it never worked out, because it was always someone else's fault.

3. I love my wife more than anything in the world, except my daughter. I'm extremely lucky to have both of them in my life.

A lot.

Mostly:

A) Inner focus must be balanced with servitude, or a servant's heart. Serving others can heal even the deepest wounds.

B) Be kind. It's a hard life. Everyone needs kindness.

C) Don't try to be Superman, but rather do what you can to help when life presents opportunities.

D) Work hard. Hard work is it's own reward.

E) Model good behavior. Don't be a hypocrite.

F) World peace starts inside, and not by pointing fingers. If you can't change you, how can you expect others to change?

G) Be patient.

H) Learn to see the potential in others instead of their flaws.

I) Forgive the mistakes of others and move on. You can't live in true freedom if you are chained to events or actions from the past.

J) Don't hate your parents, or others for that matter, for making mistakes. This is part of the human journey.

K) Take marriage seriously.

L) Take parenting seriously.

M) Say I love you often to everyone you love.

N) Say "I am proud of you" when it is merited.

O) Beware of the Pharisees, or men who turn love into a set of laws.

That's all I have for now.

1. I have never tried any illicit drug whatsoever and on my 40th birthday I quit drinking, smoking, and went gluten free all cold turkey and on the same day! I have to say that going gluten free was the hardest addiction to give up. Wheat, IMO, is very addictive.

2. I was hit by a car in Mazatlan, Mexico back in 1987. I was jumping out of the back of a pickup truck and thought I was jumping onto a sidewalk. Instead, I jumped onto the hood of a car doing about 50 mph, smashed the windshield, and then went flying about 20 yards and hit the road. Amazingly, I walked out of the hospital the next day. My cousin, who saw it all, thought I was dead for sure.

3. I aced my college accounting final exam with a 100%. I had a 53% mark in the class going in. Nope-didn't cheat at all. Studied and prepped for 3 weeks straight day and night.

1 - My wife is an African Muslim and I am a fella from the West of Ireland who is not fond of organised religion!
2 - I decided to go back to college one night when I was cleaning toilets as part of my night porter job in a crappy hotel. Decided I wasn't going to spend my life like that. 5 years later, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Literature and Publishing.
3 - I have had an illness where I constantly produce mucus for about 10 years. Spent 2 years going in and out of hospitals, took insane amounts of antibiotics and even had surgery, all to no avail. It got so bad I kept throwing up and couldn't hold food down for 6 months. Ended up losing 55 pounds during that time.

I was going to add the fact that I'm very sexy but y'all know that already

Very potent and poignant.

You model all of these very well.

We're all proud of you, papa Steve!

Well done, good and faithful friend.
