Sad day in my life

Yesterday was one of the worst days ever in my life. I had to put down my beloved cat, who we have had for over 9 years. His kidneys failed him. I know that he is in a better place, but it was so hard and I miss him so much already. He was family and home does not feel like home without him.

Thanks Hunterace. It will take a long time to get over the shock it it but I know we did the right thing. He did not need to suffer any more.

So sorry... at least you did the right thing to end his suffering. It took my Sister a while to get over the loss of her cat of almost 18 years.. but now, she is fine, although she wants another, her Husbands allergies won't allow it. The cat was "grandfathered" in with the relationship.. so he was kind of glad to see the cat go. At least you're cat had a peaceful ending.

Sorry to hear this. It is hard to do this to a loved pet but in the end it is the best to do. You will always have your memories with this cat

Thanks everyone. It was another hard day but I managed to get through it by looking at photos of him. I also ordered a memorial stone for him and that seemed to really help me out.

I wondered how you were holding up, good to hear that you're coping with the loss; photos at least will remind you of his antics which always cheer people up.
