Although, I reckon a few (well, at least one) are probably taking the stuff, his muscles just don't look quite right somehow, if you know what I mean.

Did you look at the original paper I linked?

Here we go:

Quote:
Surveys and anthropometric measures were completed by 2793 adolescents during the 2009–2010 academic year. Trained research staff
administered surveys and measured adolescents’ height and weight during
selected health, physical education, and science classes.
and

Quote:
The EAT 2010 survey is a 235-item, selfreport instrument assessing a range offactors of potential relevance to weight status and weight-related behaviors among adolescents.
So, they weren't interviewed. They were given a questionnaire to answer individually, and this will certainly have been done anonymously.

Quote:

well, they don't use the term 'buff'. They speculate in the introduction of the impact of more muscular women in the media. Then they conclude:

Quote:
Results from the current study reveal that behaviors aimed at increasing muscle size or tone are extremelycommon: almost all students report doing at least 1 behavior with this as the goal, and up to one-third reported the use of unhealthy methods, such as taking steroids or other muscle-enhancing substances. Muscle enhancement is common and was particularly high among boys and those involved in sports teams, as seen previously.19–21,23,24,29 However, use was not limited to these groups. This finding suggests that, in addition to a “thin ideal” and focus on
leanness,35,36 muscularity is an important component of body satisfaction for
both genders.
You say you've never seen one article that suggests women want to be more muscular. Well, here's one.

Quote:
I call BS.
Because you haven't spent any time looking at it, and it doesn't fit in with your experience. There are some value judgements in the study I'm not keen on, but thre more I look at it, the more it seems pretty solid. Unfortunately.

I hope you're right. Though even if it's pro-hormones that's still bad news.

Come to any spit'n'sawdust gym in a large inner city here in the UK Brute, you'll have offers left, right, centre.

I could tell you some stories, I walked in to a gym changing room once and one fella actually had a needle stuck in another ones shoulder. Looked at me said "you alright lad" and carried right on!

No one who is enhanced in my gym uses PH. Most are on straight test, deca, tren stacks. Some have experimented with Peptides like GHRP-6 as well. As you can tell from my knowledge, they are quite open about it. Hazzard and I are in the minority as naturals amongst the strong guys. Even some of the least impressive lifters I see, are on. It's more widespread than people think.

I would say 90+% of the population has used hormones.

our meats are injected with who knows what and we surely must absorb it.

12 year old girls are built like 20+ year olds, and there seems to be a lot more man-sized boys.

If this was a thread on looking skinny and being weak, I'd agree with you. However, there's proportionally not enough support for young adults wanting to do something impressive with their bodies through the weight room. Most young men look in the media and want to look like a model with shoulders, traps and abs, not Arnold.
