Gym trainers, IMO, are not personal trainers per se; we have a fitness centre here and they have trained staff who write up (or provide) program, dietary advice and the like but I certainly wouldn't consider their certification to be much above basic gym essential protocol etc and knowing what each machine does and such. Having seen their certification, it's just basic stuff; I probably know more than they do. But, with personal trainers, you have to remember they may not all be out for bodybuilding, let's say Steve was a PT, his forte would be powerlifting, for example; find one that suits your goals, and that goes for everyone looking for a PT.

yeah, your right.......the problem I have is how these people work at a gym and do not lift
