Well, in a lot of gyms the rules are not to clang the weights, unfortunately
and he may have already been aware of that point; and can anybody work out what she is pointing at toward the end and suggesting that it's not "acceptable"? But, to be fair, it looks like it's not just one issue, possibly.

He's not exactly a master deadlifter. But when I set the weight down, there are shockwaves. Set 455 down without making a ruckus and I'll be impressed if your back cooperates for long.

I agree with Big Josh. No need to let the weights down so hard.
I also agree with BruteForce, and that lowering heavy weight slowly isn't easy or reccomended. Albeit, not heavy to most of us, maybe that was 90% of his max. I also recco to the kid, use a pad under the bar. I put a couple of stretch mats in each side so the weights have a slight cushion. Then again, I'm a pussy who can't lift with a bad shoulder, yet..
