IMO he did seem to be lowering it excessively hard. And the guy who came up and talked to him didn't tell him not deadlift, he just said not to slam it down so hard. It's not like the guy told him there was no deadlifting allowed or anything.

Well, in a lot of gyms the rules are not to clang the weights, unfortunately and he may have already been aware of that point; and can anybody work out what she is pointing at toward the end and suggesting that it's not "acceptable"? But, to be fair, it looks like it's not just one issue, possibly.

It's light weight and he's dropping it like it was a ton. Out of curiosity, how many people deadlift like that?

He's not exactly a master deadlifter. But when I set the weight down, there are shockwaves. Set 455 down without making a ruckus and I'll be impressed if your back cooperates for long.

5KG His Camera that he is filming with.
I don't control my negatives when i am doing power reps for deadlifts waste of energy.

The camera/tripod is what she is saying is not acceptable.

He isn't lifting 455.

I agree with Big Josh. No need to let the weights down so hard.

I also agree with BruteForce, and that lowering heavy weight slowly isn't easy or reccomended. Albeit, not heavy to most of us, maybe that was 90% of his max.

I also recco to the kid, use a pad under the bar. I put a couple of stretch mats in each side so the weights have a slight cushion. Then again, I'm a pussy who can't lift with a bad shoulder, yet..

Thanks, all I could see was what I thought were sticks, aluminium stuff...makes sense now.

I know you and others maybe consider it a waste of energy but gyms, or a percentage of gyms, take a dim view of it and people aren't permitted to do that or even tolerated; saying that, some gyms won't even permit Oly/throwing lifts which is a tad confusing especailly after the trainer/instructor doing the induction showed me a dumbbell snatch so, the difference between a DB OH snatch and a BB OH snatch would be a "throwing lift"...oh wait, that would be both of them

Horrible, and you wonder why so many people turn to work out in their own homes.
