Default People say I'm Pushy

I have 5 sons, ranging in age from 5 to 18. They all like to lift with me, I have never pushed it on them. However some people say that I have made them come to love lifting but I have never made them do it. They just love to do it with me and spend time with me. Even though the 5 year old can not do a lot he still likes to lift small weights with me. I figure it is a good way to spend some quality time with my sons.

I agree. They don't have to be straining hard against heavy weights to have fun and recieve benefits from it.

They must be overlooking the fact that children will generally rebel or sulk to the point of oblivion, if they really don't want to be doing something. The younger the better for working on great form and reinforcing correct movement as well.

I think it's great that you lift with your sons. A lot of people are intimated by others' ability to be disciplined in training. They will criticise in an attempt to justify their own weakness. Keep doing what you're doing.

I think it is awesome that you lift with them! I wish I had a Dad that would have done things like that with me.

What a horrible thing for others to complain about. I smell some jealousy in the air.

That is great that you lift with them. Getting to spend time with them and teaching them to be in shape. If they did not want to do it then they would not do it.

Laughable that in a country that has a childhood obesity epidemic people are worried your kids workout. You've led the way for them and in doing so given them a great gift. Keep up that work and they wont be in that group of 30 year old Americans with clogged arteries, diabetes, and unable to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded.
