That's right and now we have proof!

A team led by artificial intelligence specialist Joan Serra at the Spanish National Research Council ran music from the last 50 years through some complex algorithms and found that pop songs have become intrinsically louder and more bland in terms of the chords, melodies and types of sound used.

I blame Pop Idol and the other silly shows, they all remind me of that KitKat advert "You can't sing, you can't play...you'll go far!" :tomato:...at least those, of the past, that worked the pubs and underground music in places had their own sounds, each one different and with more style than any of today's rubbish.
