Last Friday, an attaché of important gay people from Philadelphia made a trip to Washington D.C. as invited guests of President Barack Obama for the White House’s first-ever gay pride reception. There, they danced to the sounds of a Marine Corps band; they dined on crab cakes and canapés; they hand-delivered letters from concerned citizens like this 18-year old who has had four people close to him gunned down, and noted rhyming raconteur CA Conrad; and some of them took advantage of photo opportunities to give the late President Ronald Reagan the middle finger.

I am not trying to make this about gays or homosexuality. I could see these actions being performed by any number of groups/individuals in this country. I'm sure there are armies of gays that find juvenile activities like this bothersome.

What's next? Pissing on graves?

It saddens me when my children have to see adults act like this.

If you are gay and feel like the policies of Regan and the elder Bush (ignoring HIV/AIDS among other things) have been detrimental, then there is a time and place to bring attention to that (e.g. write about and discuss it). Many have. Not so surprisingly, they found a way to do so without taking pictures flipping the bird at people's portraits.

At the end of the day, you were invited to someone's "home" as a guest in what was a supposedly important and landmark showing of support...and you pissed it all away.

As BTB said, this isn't about being gay, this is about being stupid, immature, and assholish. Period.

In essence, they DID flip him off. Come into my home and act like a jackass and I take it as a VERY personal affront. Expect the door to hit you in the ass and to never again be invited.

Respect is hard to come by.

Everybody is demanding respect and crying over being "dissed" yet almost nobody gives any respect any more and especially not those that are whinging about not getting any when they never do anything to deserve it to start with.

As I don't watch mainstream media I'll never know but I'm pretty sure this wont make the evening news as it doesn't fit in with their social engineering agenda. As for the act it is despicable and should have led to prompt ejection, don't pass go, don't collect $200, just grab your stuff and go. Goes to show how virile the hate of America is by some on the left. As for their right to free speech, I feel their is a time and place for everything and doing this in a worldwide symbol of America and freedom is absolutely not it.
