If I were them I wouldn't want immunity. As it is now as an illegal citizen they get free health care, don't have to pay taxes and it is easier for them to get into college than it is the average citizen.

This whole issue proves how f**ked up these politicians that run our country really are. Protecting American citizens interest is very low on the list of priorities.

Living in California this is an issue that is in my face every day. And it drives me nuts. The politicians have basically decided to (illegally)nullify the laws ascertaining to citizenship. Laws that protect citizens and the sovereignty of america.
Screw them, kick there ass out of this country. Put troops on the border. If they want into this country there are legal means to do so.
According to the liberal media this stance makes me racist.
Well, I am of hispanic decent and I have many friends that are first Generation American citizens of Mexican decent that have entered this country through legal means.
But I guess a desire to protect Americas sovereignty, economy and citizens makes me a racist.

I'm fairly liberal in general but this just is not right. You can't be giving people what they want after they have committed a crime to be in the United States. It only encourages similar behaviour and Obama is going to have a major shitstorm on his hands.

He's setting something up folks. This was a purely political move, not the compassionate move it was made out to be. He just took a giant crap, and is hoping the Republicans step in it. He might have bought himself a few thousand votes in November, but at what cost? I'm sure he doesn't care. He just wants to be president. He doesn't want to be a leader. Just popular. Fragile egos of some people. The country has nothing to gain, except for maybe some tax revenue. But it would be a piddly amount for sure. I'm not against people moving to my country. I'm just opposed to people doing so illegaly. They shouldn't be rewarded.

The dream act was already voted down by the Senate! in 2010. The chances are even slimmer this go around. 2 aspects to consider with elections right around the corner... most Americans oppose illegal immigration/amnesty AND voting for anything involving work permits to illegals at a time when unemployment and underemployment are so high for American citizens sends a bad message to voters. Regardless of opinion, the folks on capitol hill want to keep their jobs.

This is just another political ploy by the Obama admin in an attempt to motivate his base among Latino voters which has been in decay; they may like the guy and sure as shit won't vote for Romney, but if Obama doesn't get them fired up, fewer will show up to the polls come November.
