haha, heck no - I was already eating semi-low carb, paired with the fact that I'm already sitting at ~10% bf, I decided to skip it. The purpose of the 10-day ULC is to "teach" your body how to use ketones for energy - the first few ULC days were rough but now my body is used to the ULC days so I don't feel like $hit. If you do run the ULC 10-day run, make sure you keep fat HIGH - most folks recommend 1g of fat and protein per lb of bw.

3/3 was a high carb day after overhead press - ate a little over 400 carbs - woke up at 174.4lbs this morning, but abs were actually more pronounced and I was hot as hell the entire night! The major change I did yesterday was eat popcorn post-workout (corn is acceptable), but maybe too much fiber? Gonna forgo the popcorn today and see what happens.

Sorry I've been a little quite in here the last few days - it's been busy with pre-spring break midterms. I've been following the CBL and ULC days quite closely - last night was a high carb day after bench + accessory and I capped off the night with pizza and wine with the laady friend.
3/7: 174.4lb morning bodyweight and 31.5in waist! I started CBL at 171.6lbs. Back on Feb 19th, I had a 31.5in waist and weighed 172.8lbs. So, in 16 days I've gained 1.6lbs and my waist measurement has stayed the same ![]() Very pleased with these results and I'm comfortable with that pace of weight gain esp if that means my waist will stay the same. |

3/8: Woke this morning weighing 171.4lbs :/
the ULC day must have flushed out a decent amount of glycogen stores - I will plan to eat more than 1g/lb of fat and protein on ULC days from now on as I didn't quite go to bed satiated. No worries, I leave for spring break tomorrow so I'll use the last few weeks as a learning experience -I've definitely recompped in the pat few weeks! Definitely going to be adding in some high GI carbs on off days to help slowly gain weight or increase overall cals on ULC days |

Hey all, sorry for not checking in recently. I was on spring break for the past week where I completely did not follow the CBL protocol.
thus, I'm going to continue on CBL as a I saw results in the strength and size dept, but this time I'm doing it right, and going to perform the 10-day ULC prep phase. Today is day one |

3/17: ULC Prep Phase Day 1
Day 1 of 10 - today was a lifting day; felt ok during the workout; not too pleased with my 5/3/1 top set but considering I took the past week off for spring break I won't complain too much. Gonna shoot for 1g of protein/fat per lb of bw and adjust up/down depending on the mirror and energy levels. LET'S GO!!! |

3/18: Day 2 of prep phase went alright; woke up at 169.2lbs. Squat workout was a struggle but I got it done
3/19: Day 3 of prep phase was a success; woke up at 169.4lbs. Today was a rest day. Lots of ground beef and bacon |
