2/26: Woke up at 171.6 looking very lean and some improved vascularity. Ate ~400g of carbs last night comprised of bananas, frozen french fries cereal, girl scouts cookies
I picked up some white rice and am gonna try a "cleaner" carb after tomorrow's training to see if it has a different effect. Currently, frozen white potato french fries are my "cleanes" carb source.. |

2/27: Yesterday was a ULC day (24g net carbs, 191g protein, 166g fat - 92g saturated fat)
Despite the decrease in cals on ULC days (2300-2500) compared to CBL days (3300-3800), my weight actually increased after a post low carb day - woke up at 172.6lbs. Kinda strange, but I did have a good bit of dairy fat yesterday (cheese, heavy whipping cream, butter), so maybe it's water retention? Kiefer typically recommends getting most of your fats from animal sources, so as soon as I burn through the majority of butter/heavy cream, I'm going to stick with 80/20 chuck instead of the chicken+butter combo. thoughts? |

LD, are you still doing IF? Or were you? I can't remember. Can CBL and IF be combined? It looks to me like training fasted and then doing 8 hours of eat will not work with CBL. But if you trained halfway through your eat window it seems like it would work well. Thoughts?

Quote:
Source (There's 3 parts): Intermittent Fasting: Part 1 Dangerously Hardcore I guess you could say I kinda train how you propose: 9am: coffee w/ 1 tb coconut oil 12-1pm: meat, veggies, fats (<30g net carbs) 4:30-6pm: Lift 6pm: 1.5 scoops whey and 1.5 bananas (40-50g carbs) 7pm: Chicken and white rice; 3 servings of cereal 9pm: Ice cream, french fries, cookies, etc... So in some ways, I'm really only eating "solid" food in a 9hr window, which I'm content with right now - during this protocol I've had some of the best sleep of my (short) life

2/27: CBL day on bench + accessory
Ate about 3500 calories, 222g protein, 125g fat, and 400+g carbs Major change was making ~100g of those carbs from minute-cook white rice. Limited the $hitty carbs to kiddie cereal + chocolate covered cherrie cordials. Woke up matching the lightest weight I've been on CBL thus-far (170.8lbs). Looked around the same level of "tightness" - I'm so pale sometimes its hard to see minute differences. Huh, who woulda known increasing carbs => decrease in weight. Pretty awesome stuff. I've been on CBL for about 2 weeks now and no complaints! Probably will be increasing my intake of "clean" high GI carbs because that seems to be better (white potatos, white rice) |

2/28 was a ULC day - 166g fat (lots of saturated), 27g net carbs, and 181g protein
Strangely enough, after a carb day and ULC day, I woke up at the same weight - 170.8lbs. First time that's ever happened - usually I retain water after ULC days (go figure) The nice thing about ULC days is that it helps me become more in tune with my body with regards to hunger - for example, in the evening, I now know that when I feel tired, it's not necessarily because I'm hunger but more because I'm physically tired from the day. |

Record amount of carbs on Friday, March 1 after squat day (465g). Woke up looking and feeling leaner - weight increased by 1.0lb
3/2 was supposed to be a ULC day, but my buddy's gf cooked dinner for all of us so I stuck with the meat sauce w/ no pasta. Then I split a pitcher of Margaritas with the lady-friend last night so I went wayy over carbs - still woke up at 171.8 but a little softer |
