I think it is often wrongly believed that you MUST switch every 8 to 12 weeks or you WILL stall. This is not the same as making intelligent changes when a real stall occurs.

I think the OCD belief is that "change" drives progress, and that if change is not consistent, progress will stall.

I don't believe it making change for the sake of making change, especially if you are making great gains. I prefer a more evolutionary approach to training changes - make changes when they are needed.

Just my 2 cents. Mileage may vary.
