Last year for two months I was determined to improve my strength and bulk up. I did four workouts a week, each with,

Squat
Bench
Row
Overhead press
Deadlift

and had warmup sets of 1x5 at 50% work weight, 1x5 at 66%, 1x5 at 75%, then 3x5 at work weight. I got stronger, and grew.

However, I was not moving anywhere near the weights BendTheBar would be moving. They were big weights for me, the 5 reps sometimes couldn't be completed and I had to add a makeup set - but they weren't big weights.

So I say, give it a go for a couple of weeks and see how you feel.
