Big or Strong?
You can get a big back by rowing and pulling stupid amounts of volume.
However, your strength will be limited and so will your size if you don't deadlift
Deadlifting will help your "back weaknesses", not hurt you.
If you can bend over and ties your shoes, you should be able to deadlift.
Muscles react to stimulus. There is no better stimulus than LOAD. How much load can you honestly put on the barbell for a bent row, tbar row and how much weight can you put on a lat pull machine?
If you're not deadlifting because you have a "weak" back, the reality is probably a "weak" mind
