I agree with what he has to say in general. I also had a terrible time trying to max week after week. It really beat me down mentally way more than physically. I ran Fazc' 5x 1 program for a couple months and made huge gains as it's a great program, but I was relieved to come off of it I can tell you!
From what I've read of the Cube program, it seems like something that would work for me as I have trouble sometimes gearing up mentally for a 100% effort, and I have had recovery problems from time to time after going all out.
If I only had to go all out mentally on each lift only once a month, that would be easier for me and I'm sure recovery wouldn't be a problem at all.
However, I think if I was getting close to a meet, I'd sharpen up with some big ass singles like with Fazc' program over the last 6 weeks or so.
