It can be used more than once a week. It's going to result in aggressive progression. Let's say you're doing 5-8 singles, adding one per workout:
Week 1, Workout A - 5 reps
Week 1, Workout B - 6 reps
Week 2, Workout A - 7 reps
Week 2, Workout B - 8 reps
So you're adding weight every 2 weeks. If this is a 5 pound increase, it's 130 pounds per year. That would probably fit well for an intermediate who wants to bring up lifts as quickly as possible.
If you decided to take a deload week every third week, that would be a projected max progression of 85 pounds per year. Not saying a deload is most certainly required for intermediates, but it's probably not a bad idea.
