I am under the impression that stimulants such as caffiene stimulate the CNS. And your CNS has a direct impact on your strength.
Therefore if your CNS is stimulated in theory you can be stronger or have the ability to do more reps.
This is what I've read and based on my personal experience I believe it.
I hope my explanation makes sense.
