Be sure to work hard on all your sets. This does not mean lift ridiculous weights concerning your experience. If you squatted, benched and rowed well enough, with enough hard effort, you could show up once a week and make amazing gains - I did.
You must plan for progression.
Personally, concerning time for lifting, I am so far into the Iron that the time I need finds me...
