06/01/12 - Squat 3x5

Had time to spare before the gym as it doesn't open until 10 so got some light rolling in before. Really helped as I still had some aches and felt pretty stiff, only light passes over; IT band, adductors, hip flexors and quads and the piriformis.

Squats
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
85kg x 3

90kg x 5
105kg x 5
120kg x 12 BIG rep PB

Goodmornings
50kg x 8,8,8,8,8

Knee Raise Thing
10 knee + 10 straight, 15,12,12,12 straight

Strong session today. Warms ups and first 2 5's were done within 10 minutes. 120kg is 12.5 kg above last January's 1RM and repped for 12. Last 3 were breathing squats as I'm not used to such long sets, still had some left but shoulder was tweaked a bit from the bar slipping. Also depth is getting better, bar kept touching the fixed spots of the squat rack, big off-put. Goodmornings were strong, kept oly shoes on and felt really good. Enjoying the switch of deadlift and squat assistance, it's the only thing I've changed for the new year lower body, don't want to change too much. Been getting some quite horrible back pumps recently but leg raises really help to get rid of them.

Great first week to the year!
