It's a pretty popular way of training, not sure where it originated but it has become very popular again due to the re-emergence of 'Bulgarian' training. They were well known for hitting a daily max which then set the poundage for the rest of the workout. So something like this:
Warm up to daily max.
Take off 20-25lbs for doubles
OR Take off 40-50lbs for triples (technique work)
