Not sure I understand the question correctly...
The rack pins/hooks are usually really close to the end of the bar on most squat racks so you can't grab the barbell near the end.
The buffalo bar is longer, allowing for you to hold the bar with a very wide grip, easing the pressure on the shoulders.
