LtL's Training Log
Some of you will know me from M&S, some of you won't. For those of you who don't I am a RAW Powerlifter who has competed in the 90kg's (198lb's) class. I recently qualified for the BDFPA drug free nationals at my first attempt with a 530kg's total. I have chosen not to compete this year though. Instead I am spending this year getting significantly stronger and my aim is to post a 600kg's RAW total at Nationals next year in either the 90 or the 100kg's class.
I will document the full cycle later but for upper body there is plenty of floor press and dipping alongside flat barbell benching. I have cut back on CG work to help the forearm as that seems to aggravate an injury there. For lower body I am rotating ME between squats and dead's. I am also trying to keep heavy weight off my back to help the shoulder/back recover so instead of ME straight squats, I'll be going against heavy bands. I have tried to think very hard about how to structure the whole cycle. The aim for this is to see if the following exercises can improve my big 3:
- Speed bench against bands (no pause) and floor press
- All squats against bands
- Block pulls (conventional and sumo) and speed pulls with reverse bands/against bands
Assistance work is included as well but other than 1 and 1/4 squats which are new to me, there is nothing new except the volume which should increase hypertrophy.
After a week off on holiday in Italy with Mrs LtL's family, I CANNOT WAIT TO LIFT TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!
