The Lying lateral Raise described in the article is a straight armed DB flye. You can do them straight armed or bent if you are having some shoulder pain.

The dislocations appear to be similar to a DB Pullover only you start from the thigh with a DB in each hand and you extend each arm past your head, in line with your body. He usually preformed this exercise on a decline.

Both exercises are done with light weight to start and deep breathing to assist in stretching out the muscles.
