Default "I Don't Have A Squat Rack"

Now I am the type of guy that doesn't like excuses. I've never been handed anything in my life, and if I want something I go get it. Everything I have, I've earned.

When dealing with workout-related questions, I often hear the following:

"I don't have a squat rack."

...or

"My gym doesn't have a squat rack."

Now mentally when I hear this I think, excuse...go get a gym membership, or switch gyms.

I respect that some folks can't afford a membership. I also respect that some don't want to train at a gym. But for the other 90% that want results, and don't have a squat rack, here are my suggestions:

1) Purchase a squat rack. They are a little over $300.
2) Get a gym membership. 95% of you are within driving distance of a gym that has a squat rack.

From dealing with this question on a weekly basis, I suspect that at least 80% of the folks that ask this question simply don't want to perform squats, but do not want to admit it.

When giving advice I try to never enable futility. If I tell someone to get a rack, or a gym membership, and they respond with more excuses I discontinue the conversation.
