Hard work on anything will pay off. But this obsession with destroying a bodypart from 52 angles, and with 52 lifts is just a waste of time and energy. Even when I did splits I stuck with basics and only did 10-12 working sets per day.

95% of gym rats can build amazing bodies without training 6 days per week. A split might work for them, but it's neither needed or the most efficient approach.
