This is very interesting. In all of the books and articles I have read, this was the first time I heard this.
I would love to integrate some Olympic lifting into my routine and am already working on learning proper form. I am now wondering, considering my presses are so weak, if I would be better served working on the push press first, then moving to the clean.

I think if you really worked at the pushpresses, deadlifts and squats then the pc would be a natural progression from those... rather than working the pc's then having that transfer to the deadlift, squat and pp... I could be wrong, but i would have thought the more basic the exercise then the easier it is to get good at it and lift heavier weights making you stronger (esspecially if you do them explosively). if you struggle with form on the pc then the weight would be sub-maximal and not as much strength would be gained....
