I have never used a suicide grip for squats; feels more natural to me when I can just squeeze the living hell out of the bar before I get under it, and I can't do that with a thumbless grip.

I used to use it for my Bench, though. I find that it gives me more stability with the bar sometimes, but takes away from power off the chest.
