I had no idea either - in any other gym those pullups would be laughed at.

Crossfit is great, but its meant for people with a pretty good strength base to start with. Its not something you can give to a rank novice though, yet a lot of novice guys tend to do it, and get injured and use horrid form. That tends to be why it can have a bad name.

Crossift actually seems like a pretty damn fun and sick way to loose weight and harden up, beat's the ordinary cardio. For strength and size it would not do it, but in many ways it looks like the cardio i like to do.

And the guy who fell was funny hehe

that guy who fell was funny... I do agree with max though, some of those guys are deceptively strong and it would be an ace way to do cardio. In general though it sucks cos of the idiots that do it, guys with no strength base doing stuff they dont really understand because it is a 'fad' or whatever. If you have a look at the records that some of the higher levels guys have though and the weights they pull they are freakishly stong AND fit. In the nationals though remeber I am sure handstand pushups are on rings and all squats have to be below parallel and they hav a minimum foir things like squats cleans of body weight. Thats pretty strong by any normal standards.

Carl.

This link is a guy doing the king kong
1) Deadlift @ 500lbs
2) 2 Muscle Ups
3) 3 Squat Cleans 275lbs
4) Hand stand Push Ups

All For threee rounds So total - 500x 3 singles , 6 muscle ups, 9 Squat Cleans, 9 hand stands. Thats more then most of the guys here lol and he is smaller..However he did do olympic games

YouTube - ‪Crossfit King Kong David Morgan‬‏

This next guy is smaller then most here ( also doing king Kong) and he is pulling 455 for 3 singles 2 Muscle ups for a total 6, 3 Squat cleans for 250 for a total 9 and 4 hand stand push ups. Thats pretty good

YouTube - ‪Crossfit King Kong Josh Everett‬‏
And this guy is a prime example of doing crossfit the right way.

This is my beef with it ^^. People lifting weights they're not strong enough to handle with god awful form because that's what the crossfit workout prescribes. I mock it in the same way that I would mock deadlifting with horrendous form or quarter squats because none of them is a good idea.

From what I am aware of when you are doing these Crossfit routines - Fran, KinKong, Ape Sh1t Warrior or whatever, The weight has to be heavy and explosive.

When I was doing a lot of Circuit training we would do one called the titan it was

1) Heavy Clean and Press
2) Muscle Ups
3) Oly Ring Push Ups

And that shit would kill me - 5 rounds of that and I was like holy shit.

And yes those pull up that tard was doing are called Kipping, I HATE Kipping, I also hate BS cheat pull ups or Thrusting.. DO them Strict or dont do them

Example of BS Pull Ups

MORE BS

This is Awesome Pull Up With Weight

More Great Pulls

Good Strict Pump Pull Ups

AGAIN THIS IS ****EN TERIBLE
