Loving your work lately Josh. Just killing it. Cat cameos don't hurt either!

It is remarkable how similar we are as lifters now that I'm seeing a lot more videos of you. I'm built like you and pretty much lift like you only a couple years behind you. Which means I got nothing in terms of advice! haha. Whatever you learn will help me though.

Awesome bench of course. And Squats looked good, but I believe that lean out of the hole is lack of ab strength as that is my problem too (as far as I know). On OHP, you have a fair bit of bend in your wrists and don't really push your hips forward much. Maybe seat the bar deep into your hands more and shove your hips forward more at the start might help transfer power to the bar better. I have that problem too which is why I mention it, but I have learned to dig the bar into my hands so I have very little bend back at all. My wrists are pretty much straight, very little crease at all and that has helped me in general.

My .02

Great stuff BigJosh! Keep crushing.

Stay strong Josh. Wish I could help with the cleans but I suck at them.

Thanks Mike! I'm feeling good. I really owe everything to the cat!
I think you're being humble, because I don't think you're that far behind me if you are even behind me at all. I learn from guys like you on the forum.

You identified the forward lean on the squats. Yes, this is an issue. Good eye.
You know, you suggested that it may be a symptom of ab weakness and I can't disagree. After thinking about this advice, I think I am going to put some added focus on some weighted ab movements. Just seems like the logical thing to do.

Also, good suggestion on the OHP wrist position. I'll keep that in mind and see if I can't mitigate the issue. Thanks for the help.
Very great advice.

Notes:
Second time doing deads. I really like them. They feel much more natural than conventional deads. I feel good about these and am eager to see how they develop in the coming weeks and months.

Did squats for reps. Focused on tightening up and activating my posterior chain. It seems to be doing the trick. Only time will tell. But hopefully I can finally get my squats moving forward again!

No videos. I recorded the sumo but the camera positioning is no bueno. And I didn't bother on squats. I'll probably on do squat vids on heavy squat days.

Strong benching and great sumos. I have thought about switching from convent. to sumos. Might have to start.

Just make sure those rails are set correctly by doing a staple test and then gotta have faith in them. Go get that 3rd rep next time. Looking at the vid, you for sure would have had it because even the 2nd rep looked smooth and controlled well.

Make sure to get a sumo dead vid next time. Apparently there is some technique to them that I never realized before. For me, LtL and Fen advised me to externally rotate the knees and hips and make myself more upright.

Too bad about the 325 miss. Perhaps try a lighter weight for at least triples or fivers next time??
