Thanks Jim. I will give your dead lift advice a go this week. With conventionals, I can't stay tight between sets, I had to reset. I think sumo's are going to be a different story. Thanks for the consistent advice, pointers and encouragement.

Notes:
Good session for the most part. Don't know why, but I felt a bit flat. Just one of those mornings I think.

I missed my top lift on the OHP. So, I took a few minutes, added some wrist wraps and a belt and grinded it out on the second attempt. I missed last weeks goal of 3, so I will be using this same weight on the OHP next cycle.

Notes:
I felt good after this session. I was pleased with my overall performance.
I took two attempts at the 170lb power clean. The rack on the first on wasn't on par. The second attempt was better.

Squats felt good. I think I achieved a breakthrough technique wise. I really focused on tightening my posterior chain. I feel it really activated the hams and glutes and made a big difference. Also, I focused on using my hips to bring the weight up. I felt more confident after this squat session, about my squats, then I have in quite a few months.

Power cleans looked really powerful Big J - a treat to watch really. Racking was really speedy as well. Good stuff!

Squats looking better and better for sure. I thought I saw some lean coming out of the hole on the first attempt, 2nd rep. This might have been because weight was not on heels and outside of feet. Try to get a direct side view next time so that we can see the complete bar path. The bar path should be pretty much straight up and down.

Always good when you have confidence with your squat!!

I find a belt really helps on OHP once I get up in the heavier weights! Nice job going back and getting that rep!

I agree with you about the lean. It is a big issue I have with "heavy" squats. I have being using a higher bar placement in the last 6 months to help with it, but the issue is still there.
I will take your advice and keep a mental focus on keeping the weight on the heels and outside. I also have noticed sometimes the weight shifts towards the front of my feet.
I'll get the side view video up for you next squat day.

Thanks KD. I am happy to make squat progress, even if it's just in confidence. I was really suprised how the belt and wraps assisted with the OHP.
