Ravi, man, I just watched your videos. Those are some great looking squats. That 485 was a JOKE. Great job, I love your bar placement as well. Just perfect for powerlifting.

You should be the poster boy for Smolov Ravi - just amazing PR we all knew you had in you because you have the heart and strength and form to make it happen. That 495 looked like it was all you. Very smooth and under control at all times throughout the lift. I am just so very happy and proud of you for exceeding your goal and just shutting up and squatting.

Just watch the vids...AWESOME!!! That being said, are you squatting in running shoes??? You're far stronger than me, but if you are...please get some oly shoes or at least something that has a more solid heal like chucks. I'm sure your squats would be better and stronger! If I'm wrong and they are oly shoes then ignore me! Great work again Ravi!!!

thanks super Jim ... Needed a bit of help on 495 during upward motion that's why I'm not counting it. But still 485 is better any day from 435 (my previous 1 RM). Hopefully I will be able to repeat it with Smolov for Bench provided everything remains fine. Thanks for the encouragement on all the steps brother ... Still a long way to go but now I thinks that the journey has started ...

This is very often how ALL of my squats and deadlifts feel. Another great reason to actually film your lifts; it can be hard to actually tell how they look.

thanks HT ... yes you are right ... those are running shoes only. I'm already searching for some good squat shoes ... will arrange for something very very soon ...

Great! I'm positive you'll jump up in lbs right away, you might even be surprised how much of a difference they will make. Helped my form a ton too! With my forward tilt and depth, not that your having issues with that, your form is great! More respect for getting it done in shit shoes . Can't wait to see the shiny new shoes and bigger PRs!!!!!!
