27.02.2014 : 20 reps routine : D30
Deadlift

Build up sets : 045*07 / 135*06 / 225*05 / 315*04 / 405*03
Working sets : 440*1, 1, 1, 1, 1
Finishing sets : 345*10, 8

followed by 5 sets of close grip pully pull down
170*10 / 190*08 / 210*05 / 230*03 / 250*02 [Last rep hold for around 20 sec.).

Decided to do my 10 reps sets as finishing sets rather than regular working sets. Just wanted to exhaust myself before. So went for 5 single @440lbs. 345 actually felt light in finishing sets. completed 10 reps in first set.

thanks fen ... And you are a lot stronger than me on DLs and squat. Don't worry, I have define a target of doing 5 reps with 440 by end of March. Will be changing my schedule again to 5X5 for some time. Mayhem starts from tomorrow ...

You forget I tried to copy your squat session rep for rep and failed miserably, and don't bring up the fact that I hit some heavy front squats first because it doesn't compare to all reps I couldn't do that you did.

Nice pulling, Ravi. I like the switch to do the big singles early and the high reps after... I find if I do high reps first I get a bit tired and my form on the big singles is not as good as it should be.

When I was doing my own thing after my recovery and before JB's programming that started 4 weeks ago, I really enjoyed doing some heavy singles and then rep work. I liked doing ascending reps but descending weight by 20lbs. For example:

475X3
455X4
435X5
415X6

Thanks super Jim ... Right now my immediate target is to do 440*5*5 with DLs by March end. Shifting to 5X5 from tomorrow for some time. Enjoyed volume work very much but can't continue it for too long. Will love to get back at it after some time.
