Well JB, we didn't go up in weight *I* think the depth is there, but he does not. He's not happy with it, so we continue @135....

Session #13

SQ:
45 2X10 (at the 10th notch on the cage)
95 2X5 (at the 10th notch)
135 5X5 (at the 12th notch)

*I pick the bar up on my back on the 23rd notch. He says depth is perfect at 10, I feel like my ass is on the ground. I tried getting down to 10 @135 and it wasn't happening. So, plan is, on Wed, go to 10 in warm ups again -- then go to 12 @135 again. Maybe go to 11 on Friday.

Nice work and good choice with the 5x5. It will help technique a lot and give you a great intro to lifting the iron.

Thanks Kuytrider! I found yesterday that putting those catch bars on the cage and coming down to tap them was really helpful.

I want whatever is considered a "legal" squat. He says when I have the bar at the 10th notch on the cage, the top of the thigh is parallel. At 11/12 its more like the thigh bone is parallel (and from what he tells me, this isn't legal). I don't know. I'm gonna have to video tape it and see where I am, it sure feels low enough, but he obviously has a better view than I do, lol.
