Thanks, Mark! Yeah, I've been eating over maintenance for 6 weeks now and was planning on a cut in Oct. Now, with the meet coming up, I'll just work the carb calories down to maintenance. That should get me to 195 or so then weigh in will be no stress. Of course, that said, I'll probably just slip in at 197.9!

Thanks, Kuyt! HA! I have serious deadlift envy, so we're even.

Kit, the meet is the one mab is doing on Oct. 27 at VMI. Should be fun. I'm going in with the idea of hitting all 9 lifts, not really shooting for too much like I did last time. I'll set PRs, but probably not by too much. If all goes well, I think I should be able to do just over a grand total. Right around what JB does in one squat!

Anyway, life got seriously in the way today, so this week starts tomorrow.

I did however send 20 bucks to Wendler for his newer e-book (5-3-1 for powerlifting) and learned some stuff I'm going to use my last cycle before the meet. So, today was fairly productive after all.

Squatting 300 for reps tomorrow! That was my max at the meet I did March 31st, and now it should be my opener at the meet at end of Oct.

Good day today. Got greedy and missed a squat for the first time since March, but still set big PRs, and it was a good miss if there ever is such a thing.

Warmups: Rowing 2 min, hip and leg stuff

Squat:
5x 235
3x 270
3x 300 (Boom! PR)
1x 325 (PR)
0x 335 (Too tired, lost tightness, got forward)

Bench:
3x 5x 225

BB Row:
5x 10x 135

Circuit:
3x 15 Dead Bugs
3x 10x 25 Hammers
3x 15x 100 Tricep Pressdowns

That's it. I'm cutting down on the assistance stuff and not pushing too hard on the second lift of the day (bench) to sharpen up for the meet. But, I'm adding in some singles to the main lift of the day. More on that though in the next cycle.

3x 300:
1x 325:
0x 335:

Very pleased with the squats. Even the 335, I could have saved it, but I didn't want to good morning it up and possibly rack up my back. The weight wasn't the problem, I was just too tentative with it. I can totally get it next time around.

Congrats on the 325 Mike. From the looks of things I think 335 could have been yours. Looks like an off rep.

How are those bench reps feeling?

Thanks, BtB! Yeah, just missed it. I get that no problem if I'm fresher/more aggressive with it.

Bench is going good. The fifth rep on the first and last sets was tough, but never in doubt. Second set was no problem at all. The focus is on clean reps under control with good form all the way through. I'll stay at this weight until the weight is just too easy.

Oop! Just realized I need to change my signature! Might need to change it again Wednesday if all goes well with deadlifts.

Wow - definition of progression is adding at least 35 lbs to a squat in 6 months. I actually think, with a proper ramp up, you have more than 335 in you - maybe 350.
