ME Squat Day

I did close stance paused squats today, worked up to a new record of 147.5kg, it was tough but not all out ballbusting. I then clustered a bunch of reps together. I finished off with GMs as deep as I could go in my squat stance. I used to rate GMs as a top 3 exercise but not so much anymore, I seem to get more out of the close stance squatting.

ME Bench Day/ME Squat Day

Bah stupid bench press, worked up and missed a PR attempt with 2 chains on the bar, tweaked my back for my trouble too. I might need to rethink a few things for my bench training. Still gonna stick with the assistance work but might rejig a few things for the main lift. I did a bunch of sets with no leg drive and these smoked my pressing muscles nicely, I finished with db floor presses with a hammer grip and then did Anderson squats with the SSB, these went well, great energy and I felt like I could have lifted for another 2 hours!

You and me both. Am just thinking about the same thing - making changes. Perhaps we need a "bring up the bench" thread to get some of us moving.

ME Squat Day

Very strong day today, I did Anderson squats to pin 29 with 4 chains.I worked up to a new record and then hit backoff sets for reps. I then pulled sumos for speed against minis, worked up a bit there to a very easy PR too. Good signs and a strong night.
