It's been a really stressful day with hubby undergoing a double heart bypass this afternoon and evening..so to de-stress at least a bit...

Ad lib KB workout
  • Two-Arm 2 KB snatches (a new exercise for me using 2 KBs, snatching one-arm is not easy let alone using 2KBs and both arms, interesting to say the least but okay). 100 reps
  • OHP two KBs. 100 reps
  • Leg Extensions; yup, I thought it through and found a way to do them at home. 60 reps
  • OH KB-Walks (around the room)
  • Calf Raises
  • Triceps Extensions
  • High Pulls

And a few other bits thrown in...

Today

KB snatches
500

Trying to get some mixed conditioning in, hence the snatches. Mixture of counterbalanced, doubles, and singles (KBs I mean, not reps).

It certainly did build up an appetite...I just kept feeding it

Thanks Steve; one day at a time, still but hopefully for the better.

The first phone call hubby got to make, he asked me to go and play track 9 on the CD that was in the player, here...and as he rang off, he reminded me that I wasn't to forget to go and listen to track 9...he deliberately waited until after his operation to put that plan into action since he must have been thinking about it beforeheand as well; and since we both knew that there was a chance he may not have survived the op, because anything can go wrong, he chose to wait until the op was behind him...not realising that he will be going in for yet another procedure after that point...but anyway...

...track 9 is

Today
45 minute walk in the rain

I guess you could consider it a "Power" walk, due to the pace.

Yeah, I know, it's great He also wants to learn the tune on the guitar; I got him an electric guitar last year, he's wanted one for some time...he'd like drums but we don't have the space so instead, we got a set of electronic drum pads (compact set).

He is inspired to get some shape into his upperbody and we've decided to take some ideas from Rich's journal; obviously hubby won't be able to do all the exercises due to other medical restrictions but sine Rich uses upperbody workouts, we will try and adapt them to suit.

I already PM'd Rich to let him know and he's willing to offer advice as we go as well.

Hubby was really disappointed to feel his bicep muscles disintegrating as he had to just sit; much as he can't workout a lot (prior to the heart attack) strangely he had solid biceps, probably due to the use of crutches...and frankly, many of you would have killed for his calf muscles, due to the bike and the amount of stress they have to take when he's walking...the one in particular, because it took on the work of both (after the ankle fusion) is massive. Hopefully, that will just take a little work to bring back up.

The thing I respect about him is that he does what he can with what he has, which many don't; and he's always a perfect gentleman to me...6-pack abs are way overrated in comparison
