it's just about leverage, really. if you focus on "curling your head up" toward your knees using your abs you can punish your abs.

if your abs aren't strong enough (or the weight is too heavy; 2 sides of the same coin i guess) you'll recruit your hip flexors by curling your torso toward your knees, if you get my meaning.

Feels ok. Progress is slow going, but I feel like my form is solid.

(correct me if I'm wrong but) I've been told (by MaB members) when squatting in order to get the most from the lift and the rebound effect one really needs to commit to the descent.
In your opinion, does the same thing apply to benching?
I know I don't want to bounce of my chest, but do I want to really commit to lowering the bar in order to get the most from the rebound effect?
