Shoulder horn and spider walk. Dance craze, sweeping the nation.

We did a walk on hands and feet with torso elevated during wrestling.

LOL! Here you go. Great exercise to use at the end of a workout for your shoulders. I usually use more tension like a doubled mini.

Not sure if I have a shoulder or tricep injury. I have some light bruising at the top of my tricep but the pain is in my shoulder. Feels more like a bruise and pulling weights off the floor with a clean grip seem to bother it most. Well, still need to train.

Power Snatch 175x1
Power Clean 215x1 (big pain when I broke 225 from ground so bagged it)
High Incline press
225x5
275x5
295x5
305x3
315x3
325x3

Wanted to get a squat in but not bother shoulder so I chose the SSB bar.

SSB squats (beltless)
445x3

For anybody that cares what I am doing. I decided to go to three days a week but train for olympic lifting. I cant handle the advanced routines you find online and have settled on the old Berry/Starr system. Oly lifts will be strictly beginner heavy/ medium/ light (since thats what I am with these lifts) and my pressing and squatting will be more of the advanced system. So:

Saturday
Heavy day
Snatch
C&J
Jerk from boxes
Squat 5x5 (ramped)

Mon
Light
Snatch
C&J
Standing Military press

Wed
Medium day
Snatch
C&J
High Incline
Heavy squat (I may just alternate some diffrent bars just to keep it interesting.)

Long as you're still squatting heavy, you're alright in my book. Lol. Good luck with the oly stuff. I'm sure you'll kill it just like the powerlifting stuff...

Spent quite a bit of time last year reading about a lot of older Olympic programming, though it's certainly not my specialty.

Good luck.

Thanks. Its a big blow to the ego but I need the challenge. I will still do power meets. Squat the weight, lay on your back and push it up, and pick it off the ground. Simple.
Good oly lifters are strong but you need other things like flexibility and speed to be good at the lifts. My coach put it to me perfectly. Squatting 600 and benching 400 will help you when you play football or whatever sport but it doesnt guarantee your going to be any good. The problem I have seen with the limited exposure I have with the Oly lifters is they seem to lean too much on the technique side.
If you have decent technique and you put a 100 pounds on your squat then you should lift more. Also if all you do is worry about base strength its only going to take you so far. There needs to be a good mix and theres no reason you cant compete in both sports. I think they complement each other.
Squat heavy, lots of pulls from the floor, and pressing. Most powerlifters arent going to do whats necessary to do the Oly lifts because it is a blow to the ego. Its a shame because the old York guys use to do both. Bill Starr pulled 666 at 198 without even really deadlifting!
