Nice lifting Big Mike. Your committment to get under the bar is getting better and better. 315 C+J soon? Snatching 220 will be in the rear view mirror soon for sure.

Defintely going to start more oly based training. I learned alot about what will work for me as an older beginner. Mostly its managing expectations and knowing what my strengths and weakness are. I need to be strong (for olympic lifting the back squat is really what matters) and do enough work on the lifts where I get better but dont beat myself to hell. Before, I hammered myself into the grounds with the lifts and let my squat go to crap.

Thanks. A 300 pound plus power clean and jerk are the immediate goal (294 was my old pr). I have power snatched 226 in the past and missed 231 about million times. I havent snatched in 6 months so it was my first session back. Any movement on the snatch front will be gravy.

Yesterday
squats worked up to 545
didn't feel like training so I cut it there

Today
power cleans
235 12x1
Snatch high pull 205 10x1

Sore traps coming up!

Thanks, it takes time and I still cant do a rock bottom snatch. Just having fun.

Shoulder and elbow have AIDS from the jerks and snatches last week. My left elbow hurts to straighten so the 5 sets across felt better as I went along.
