You know I love you. Give the snatch grip high pulls a try. Thats the first time I have really done them with my coach and my traps are already sore!

Sounds good, I think I'll toy around with them perhaps I'll try 5 sets on the P.Snatch and 5 more on the Snatch Pull next week.

Small world!!!!! We train at a private gym. Nice place for a few guys to train, with just the basics. I have trained at White Oak High, the school I work at. Just a lot better training over there with those guys.

I do deadlift grip high pulls but snatches scare me.

Yeah, excellent work Mike!

I couldn't tell on the power snatch, but do you hook grip those? If you do, any tips? Hooking in a snatch grip has been difficult for me.

Awesome! I will have to look you up. I may be going back to the area in a couple of months for a short vacation. I really had a good time living there.

Give them a try some time. I am hurting all through my upper back and you dont need alot of weight.

I do but I just started using straps last Saturday due to the soreness I would get in my entire hand the next day. It feels better to me to hook than to try just straight overhand. What exactly are you having problems with? I will help anyway I can.

I do. I started training with a team once a week about two months ago but I was training for a power meet so it was kinda half ass. I just started training three times a week with my team. Probably take me 6 months to get to where I need to be.

Good luck, Mike! In six months, you'll be a beast with these lifts, I have no doubt.

Thanks for the offer to help. Pull also hooked me up with some information. But my problem is small hands basically. On a clean I can hook half decently, but it hurts and I can only grab my thumb with my first finger, so when it gets heavy, even that slips more often than not. However, snatch is much worse as the angle seems to make matters very difficult and my thumb pops out right away with any kind of weight.

Honestly, I think I just need to do it more, get past the pain, and kind of stretch to lengthen my thumb so it's easier to grab.

However, any tips you have are much appreciated. And thanks Pull too! That article was very enlightening!
