Actually, I really liked it too. Here are today's numbers.

NOTES
Was looking forward to seeing what would happen today. Still some DOMS from Wednesday, but as I went along they disappeared. The squats felt easy, which is a good sign. I forgot to add 5 lbs for the first set of deadlifts. Set one and two went fairly smoothly. Sets 3,4,5 were tougher, with set 5 being one of those set were you are talking yourself into doing just one more rep. I won't be surprised if I am not feeling these for a few days. Overall, this was a fun day. I was pooped after deads, so I will hit abs tonight or tomorrow, as Sundays are the makeup day.

Thanks Mab54. 50% of my 1 rm was rougher than I thought. Today was the only day that I questioned if I could get it done. I am not going to let this challenge beat me. Next week, I will add at least 2.5 lbs to each 5 x 10.

This program is so deceptively difficult on paper to some of the younger lifters. I have been asked a few times what should be added after 5x10 deadlifts and I always a say a little abs work in you survive.

Send them to me next time, I will straighten them out. My back is still feeling the 50 deadlifts. You see 50% of your 1 RM and mistakenly think, "easy" until you hit about the 25th rep. At that point your brain starts calling you all kinds of vile names.

NOTES
Today started off on a sour note. Some time in the wee hours of the night the fire alarm starts chirping, battery low. About 4:15 I try to reach and pull the battery. Just out of reach. I head downstairs to find the step stool. Pull the battery only to discover that since it is connected to the larger security system, it will continue chirping. Try to sleep through it, no go. So up again around 4:30 to try to find a battery. Found battery and changed it out. We slightly over slept, putting us about 15 minutes behind our morning schedule. Wife, with her sub zero body fat, wants to wear her thermals, as she has bus duty and it is in the 20's this am.( For those of you up North, that is the Beach equivalent of sub zero temps). I had washed them last night, thinking ahead. I go the the dryer and start to pull them out only to discover everything is still wet. Our dryer had bit the dust.

Well, on the upside, I get to put into operation the Dave Ramsey emergency fund. It was actually quite comforting knowing that I already had the cash to pay for a new dryer. It will be here tomorrow.

I went in the Dog House around 9 am. I didn't do any arm work as I had a ton to do this morning. Other than that, today felt good. I am liking this cycle, feeling stronger every day.
