Fitness and recreation, really?

Yes really...

After starting and stopping so many times its unreal, having this plan for that goal and that plan for this goal. I have finally realised I just like lifting weights!

Would i like to be powerlifter strong? Yes! but do i lack the discipline and motivation to do it? Yes! Am I too vain to gain the weight necessary? Yes!

Would I like to be in Natural Pro shape? Yes! Do i lack the discipline for this too? Yes! Can i diet as I am supposed to and be that dedicated? Yes!

So what do i do? Well i have decided I am never gonna be powerlifter strong or body builder built, but you knwo what thats fine! MAB are a comunity of people who just like lifting weights, so thats what Im gonna do. Im gonna try and run a couple of times a week as I like the thought of being relitively fit, and I am gonna lift some weights and keep the strength and size that I have, anything else will be a bonus.

I am 37 years ol, I amprobably about as strong as I have ever been and as strong as most 20 somethings which is OK. Im not fat, Im not massively built, but I am in good shape. if i can stay here for the next 20 years or so then you know what I think I'll be happy.

That being said i have had the best results when doing the Reeves and whilst i dont want to go back on to a full on 'program' i will use some of the ideas of that in the routines that i will do... first session some push stuff....

BHTNP
seated, no back rest

20kg x 8
30kg x 8
40kg x 8
50kg x 6/5/4

DB Bench

22.5kg x 8
27.5kg x 8/8/8

Dips

BW x 10/10/10/10/10

Tredmill

2/2 mins @ 6/12kmph x 7 times, 28 mins altogether...

good to be back :)

Carl.

As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing wrong with just moving some weight and enjoying yourself. I know I personally need to feel like I'm moving towards something or I won't enjoy myself, even if it's just an abstract idea of the man I want to be, but that's just how I am.

 Great stuff Carl!

You said a lot of stuff that fits me as well. I would love to be able to train the way I want without the interuptions of life getting in the way. I love to write, and put programs together but I have to pay bills as well.

It has been nice this week being at home with the Family and hitting the garage at my leisure. I'll return and contribute more than I currently do, but I must concentrate on my paying career right now as a priority.

I love being a part of the Family here at MAB.

I echo what the others have said, there is nothing wrong with lifting just for the enjoyment of it in fact I'll go out on a limb and say it's beneficial to do just that every once in a while.

Have fun!

I'm glad you're back. We miss you a whole helluva lot. You don't need to feel pressured to be or do anything.

Glad you enjoy it mate as I've always found that's a massive part of lifting and training. Also, awesome to have you back and logging again. Gotta have you down here again for another monster Berkshire Strong session!
