Beast...the name says it all, rugby, JJ, and moving iron = a recipe for a MONSTER ;-) soon enough you will be changing your forum name!!! Nice work in here!

Mind if I give a bit of encouraging words in regards to bench? Heres the truth about bench, it's not as easy to perform as most ppl think and it's is the most hard lift to actually get to progress! Just focus on strengthen your shoulders, biceps, triceps and back and watch it grow! Trust me, i've been chasing a 500lb bench for several years with numerous setbacks...just stick with it and it will break!

Thanks for the comments guys, it means a lot.

Mr Silverback, I'll keep at it. Bench seems to be out of proportion to my other lifts, so I'm going to hammer it for a few months and work hard on back/shoulder/arms. Thanks

Day of rest today!

The bench is a funny animal, you have to find the style that works best for you. Good luck, and keep after it!

Tuesday 31st January 2012

A. Power Clean
Work up to 105kg x 2

B. Deadlift
155kg x 3
175kg x 3
195kg x 3

C. Front Squat
70kg x 5 x 10 (60secs rest between sets)

D. Farmers Walks
50kg DB in each hand: 3 x 40 metre walk (60 secs rest)

E. Neck Harness
20kg x 25, 25

Conditioning
20mins interval bike: 3mins max effort/2mins light x 4 rounds

I think I've screwed up my deadlift working max, due to using my mixed grip max but now deadlifting with straps. I will have to review this, as I wish to stick with straps for now. The last set was very hard, although I've lifted more with mixed grip with less effort.

Do you feel you're deadlifting less with straps?

BtB, yes I do - I lifted 220kg's a couple of weeks ago with no straps and it was a smooth pull from the floor. Getting 195kg off the floor with straps today was a grind.

Due to inaccurate use of a training spreadsheet, I should have been aiming for 180kg x 3+ today as my working set I need to start logging working maxes so this idiocy doesn't occur again!
