Nothing wrong with taking your time and focusing on your technique. Once you feel more comfortable you can start pushing it a bit more.

Power Cleans

Work up to 100kg x 3

Squat ATG

120kg x 5
125kg x 5
135kg x 10 (+5kg, equal to last weeks reps)

Deadlift

147.5kg x 5
165kg x 5
187.5kg x 8


I amalgamated squats and deadlifts today as I have a rugby match again at the weekend and need some lower body recovery days beforehand. In future when I have match I will condense my training into two sessions; Squat/Bench and Deadlift/Press for the week.

Deadlifts were done overhand with straps, but based off my mixed grip/no strap working max. It went fine and actually felt a lot better on my elbows than mixed grip.

That's how I deadlift in training.

Nice beat down today. That's a serious amount of deadlift reps at that weight.

I imagine you need a couple days break after a match to heal from the beatings before you train.

BtB, it's a pretty physical game, certainly the day after I feel like I've been run over by a truck haha!

Rugby match, won the game!

Very physical game, a few people went off injured from each side but we persevered and won.

For anyone not familiar with rugby tradition, here is a short motivational pre-match film. I love this stuff
