Default Update - 1/6/12

My shoulder is feeling better now. The pain is almost gone, so I'm pretty sure there is no permenent damage, just a minor strain. I tried some running yesterday, but the impact was shaking my body too much, causing more pain. I finished with some walking.

I'll keep resting it through the weekend, and will do daily range-of-motion excersises. I have a chart I got from my Doctor last time I injured it. I should be able to lift again by the end of next week, latest. Should be good to run by Monday, but will stay cautious.

This is just a speed bump, I'm glad it happened early so I don't lose too much progress. I just started, so I haven't really made much good gains, or fat loss. That will change soon enough, diet is still on track, no alcohol or junkfood.

Default Workout Session #4 - 1/9/12

So my shoulder is getting better, with a greater range of motion each day. I'm letting it heal, and will stay off weights for another week. That just means more time for cardio. I got cut off today from the treadmill because there is supposed to be a 30 minute limit during peak times. I was on for a full hour, and people started looking around for an empty station. I gave mine up to a old man walking around...then the guy next to me stopped 5 minutes later..figures. I could have had 90+ minutes today.

I'm feeling good otherwise. Lots of unknown energy today, just wasn't getting tired after I blasted through the first run. I've been taking 2.5g PLCAR about an hour pre-WO, along with .5g mixed in with each of my (2)20oz drinks I consume, and another.5g in my PWO shake. So that's about 5g daily, which is around $25 for 45 days. I'll keep evaluating it, but I think it's becoming a staple at some point.

Okay, so today was all cardio. It had been a while since I ran for distance, so I pulsed between running and walking again.

Cardio
Treadmill - 3.9 miles - Total Time 60 minutes
.50 mile @ 3.5mph - Warm-up
1 mile run at 5.5mph
.50 mile walk at 3.5mph
.5 mile run at 5.3mph
.5 walk at 3.5mph
.5 mile run at 5.3mph
.4 mile walk @ 3.5mph

As stated, I felt like I could have repeated that cycle for another hour. Feeling good again, really feels good.

Yeah, so I am now fan of PLCAR. I could have gone on forever. I just didn't get tired. I did more than I have in months on a treadmill. This stuff kicks ass.

Shoulder feeling better than yesterday, but still a bit tweaked. So more rest as planned.

Cardio
Treadmill - 7.05 miles - 100 minutes, 5 seconds.
.25 mile walk @3.5mph - Warm-up
2 mile run @5.3mph

Lost track of what I was doing after that, but it was basically walk a bit, run a bit, walk a bit, run a bit. From 5.3mph to 8mph, .25 & .50 mile runs. Felt good going for so long, legs are just a bit sore.

Yea. I will sleep very well tonight, I'm sure of that...and probably very soon....

Default Workout Session #6 - 1/11/12

Pretty good day. I wanted run more, but my left knee was a bit sore; probably from yesterdays long treadmill time. Still worked it pretty hard, soaked with sweat, felt good about the time spent.

Shoulder is still sore, but getting better....I hope

Cardio
Treadmill - 5.20 miles - Total Time 85 minutes
.25 mile walk @ 3.5mph
.25 mile run @ 5.3mph
.25 mile walk @ 3.5mph
.25 run @ 5.3mph
3 mile walk @ 3.9mph
.2 mile walk @ 3.5mph - Cool Down

Yup, tired and hungry. Not eating much at all, carbs at practically zero. Tested myself last night, and I was in total ketosis, and that was after having a protein shake with milk...so hopefully, the fat is going away. I don't look any slimmer, but I feel it..Time will tell, no scale til Friday.

Also got an appointment notification to see a Nutritionist, because I have high cholesterol. I'm a bit apprehensive, but I will at least go and listen to what he/she says. Regardless, I'm not eating more veggies. It just won't happen...

Default Workout Session #7 - 1/12/12

Damn. Knee was too sore to run. So just walking today...kept a good pace though, wasn't just strolling along. I also tried to do some basic shoulder rehab excersises, with a 2lb DB and a light tension band. I probably shouldn't have done that. It now feels worse than this morning. Strange, because as I was doing them, it actually felt a bit looser, less pain. Hoping it goes away overnight. I got ibuprofen and Aleve, and I slapped some Bengay Ultra on.. That stuff is strong up front, but seems to wear off after 30minutes...oh well...

Cardio
Treadmill - 3.75 miles @ 3.2mph - 72 minutes
