Tired. I am very tired. Stayed up late last night, walked 5 miles today, with a couple speed walks tossed in. No gay arm swinging with 1lb dumbells though.. More of the same tomorrow probably. Bed soon tonight.

Had a few 6.2 and 7.2mph speed-ups mixed in there as well. Felt good overall. Also getting ready to buy a new pair of running only shoes. My current pair is almost a year old, and too worn out to support my weight any longer. So a new pair, should last me at least up to Tough Mudder. I'm wearing a pair of trail shoes I have for that, better traction for some of the wall climbing, and higher ankle support as well.

Shoulder is sore as hell right now. I'm going to the Doctor Friday, hopefully for just a cortisone shot. I can't do surgery for a few months, and I don't want to take 2g of ibuprofen to get relief for the race. So, hoping like hell a quick shot can help. Maybe one now so I can train, and another for the actual event. I don't know how long they last though, but I'm pretty sure it's not a single day thing..

Diet is back on track, a little slip up over the weekend, but not too bad. Ready to begin eating even less now, dropping 1 of the 2 daily granola bars..might substitute that with more protein, maybe a sludge snack instead...


mmmm....sludge.

Default Workout Session #16 - 1/31/12

Quick update... Had a late session today due to staying late at work, to make up time. I'm out of work between 8-3 to have some repairs completed at my house, so I need to stay late to balance the time card. Did a little more running than usual today, felt good. No pains really. Also to note, and hopefully not jinx, shoulder not so much of a pain today, but not 100% yet... Will still let the Doctor do his thing..

Also blasted out a quick weight circuit to burn the muscles a bit, keep some activity in them while I'm out of the rehular weight room..

**Update**


Missed a few posts, but nothing major. Still just walking a few miles each day, but hopefully back to running next week. New shoes should be in Thursday. I'm really hoping that is the cause of my constant knee pain when running, along with the shin splints. Hitting the iron again soon as well, just waiting for the Doc to get my MRI setup, then a cortisone shot to calm the shoulder down so I can move weight.

Still on track to be ready, I planned in mid-training injury/rest times, so I'll be ready for damn sure...I can't wait to kick some Mudder ass!

Default Workout Session #19 - 2/8/12

Good day today. Back was a little sore, but it didn't keep me from sweating for 92 minutes. Just some cardio, did a weight circuit yesterday, but was able to mix running and walking again without knee and/or shin pain. Some soreness now, but I'll throw an ice pack on it to cool it down.

Cardio
Treadmill - 6 miles run/walk - 92 minutes

Started walking, then swapped running 1/2 miles, with walking for a few minutes in between. Then I did 60 second runs, 30 second walks, for about 10 minutes total on those at the end. A few sets of bicep and tricep circuit drop sets to finish off a satisfactory day.

I should be getting my new runners in tomorrow, provided Fed Ex doesn't suck ass. I'd use them right away, but I need to get a nap in before tomorrow night, because I'm going to a local hospital tomorrow night for an MRI on my shoulder, to make sure I have no major rotattor cuff injury. If all goes well, I'll be getting a cortisone shot a week from Friday, then hopefully, be able to hit the iron again.
